Jane McConnell

“About 20 years ago, I taught myself knitting from a book, and soon I was obsessed, taking projects everywhere I traveled and diving into wool fairs and workshops. I’ve joined knitting trips to Shetland and the Faroe Islands, falling in love with Fair Isle colorwork, lace, and cables. Living in Norway for 11 years, where yarn is found in supermarkets alongside bread, deepened my knitting obsession. I also explore machine knitting, spinning, and crochet, but hand knitting is my sanctuary, keeping me grounded through stressful work, long travels, and even meetings and TV time. I often knit just for the calm it brings, leaving friends with extra hats or socks! Now back home in Edinburgh, I’m excited to share the wonderful world of knitting at Kathy’s Knits.”
